Contrary to popular opinion, bankrupt Red Deer residents don’t emerge from bankruptcy proceedings scot-free. While a bankruptcy declaration may relieve the filer of most debt payment responsibility, some debts will still need to be paid. The filer also stands to lose many valuable assets after turning these over to the courts for liquidation and debt payment. Those declared bankrupt also get reset credit ratings which they’ll have to rebuild from square one. If you’re thinking about filing, try to look at other options which can allow you to obtain debt relief without damaging the state of your finances even further.
